# Influencer Campaign Examples: 8 Formats You Can Copy

**The short answer:** the best influencer campaign examples each pair a simple idea with a clear role for the creator: name a product after them, run a public challenge, cast real customers, or pay for each new customer. Below are eight formats with one public example each, what you need to run them, and how a small brand can scale them down.

One honest note: we describe what each brand publicly did or offered, from the source named, checked November 1, 2026. We don't report results, since most of these sources don't give any, and we won't guess them. Use your own tracked sales to find out what works for you.

## What are the main types of influencer campaigns?

| Format | Example | Best for | Budget |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Creator-named product | Dunkin' and The Charli | A creator with a true product story | High, can scale down |
| Public challenge | Gymshark66 | Brands with a community | Medium to high |
| Community casting | Aerie #AerieREAL Voices | Values-led brands | High, can scale down |
| Mission-based community | tentree #EarthStuff | Many small advocates | Low to medium |
| New-customer bounty | MUD\\WTR | Clear acquisition goals | Pay on results |
| Code and commission | Magic Spoon | Partners with buying audiences | Pay on results |
| Performance bonus | Momentous | Keeping top partners active | Pay on results |
| Partner promo calendar | Pura Vida | Keeping partners posting | Low |

Budget is our rough view, not from the sources.

## 1\. The creator-named product: Dunkin' and The Charli

[Food Network's report](https://www.foodnetwork.com/fn-dish/news/dunkin-charli-damelio-cold-brew-coffee): in 2020, Dunkin' added Charli D'Amelio's usual order to its menu as "The Charli", with an Instagram contest, a takeover of its social channels and a TikTok dance challenge.

**Scale it down:** name a bundle or recipe after a creator who really uses your product. **You need:** a true story, a product you can package quickly, and a clear end date.

## 2\. The public challenge: Gymshark66

[Gymshark's "how to become an athlete" article](https://ca.gymshark.com/blog/article/how-to-become-a-gymshark-athlete): entrants post a pledge on TikTok or Instagram, tag @gymshark, use #Gymshark66 and post at least weekly during the 66-day challenge. The winner earns the athlete title and a year of perks.

**Scale it down:** a 30-day challenge with one prize. **You need:** a behavior your product supports, simple rules, written terms, and someone to judge entries.

## 3\. Community casting: Aerie #AerieREAL Voices

[American Eagle Outfitters' August 17, 2021 announcement](https://www.aeo-inc.com/2021/08/17/aerie-unveils-aeriereal-voices-campaign/) describes a campaign built around its community of celebrities, customers, brand ambassadors and partners telling their own stories, across social, digital and stores. The cast included TikTok creators and a wheelchair dance team.

**Scale it down:** feature five customers in your next email and homepage. **You need:** written permission from everyone, and a real point of view.

## 4\. The mission-based community: tentree

[tentree's ambassador page](https://www.tentree.com/pages/ambassadors): members complete missions such as engaging, creating and sharing, and earn product, gift cards, commission, cash, VIP rewards and more.

**Scale it down:** one mission a month for your top 20 customers. **You need:** a list of simple missions, and a way to check and reward them.

## 5\. The new-customer bounty: MUD\\WTR

[MUD\\WTR's ambassador page](https://www.mudwtr.com/pages/ambassador): $35 commission per new customer, with bonuses at the first 5 and 10 sales and $500 for every 50 sales.

**Scale it down:** set a bounty lower than what a new customer costs you elsewhere. **You need:** a way to tell new customers from returning ones, and a figure your margin can carry.

## 6\. Code and commission: Magic Spoon

[Magic Spoon's affiliate page](https://www.magicspoon.com/pages/affiliate): 20% commission with a custom $5-off code and link for each affiliate, plus free cereal and early access.

**Scale it down:** offer a small shopper discount and a commission your margin allows. **You need:** tracked links, a clear rule on how sales are credited, and limits on your codes. See [affiliate links vs discount codes](https://chargezen.com/blog/affiliate-links-vs-discount-codes).

## 7\. The performance bonus: Momentous

[Momentous's affiliate page](https://www.livemomentous.com/pages/affiliates): 15% commission, a new-customer bonus, and quarterly bonuses based on performance and engagement.

**Scale it down:** one bonus for the partner who brings the most new customers this quarter. **You need:** a target that's plain and fair, and accurate tracking.

## 8\. The partner promo calendar: Pura Vida

[Pura Vida's affiliate page](https://www.puravidabracelets.com/pages/affiliate-program): affiliates receive exclusive monthly newsletters with promotions, content and codes they can adapt for their own marketing.

**Scale it down:** one email a month with what's new, a suggested angle and a ready-to-use image. **You need:** a monthly habit and a list of partners.

## How do you choose the right campaign format?

* **If you need new customers now** : Try a bounty or code and commission, and pay only on results.
* **If nobody knows you yet** : Try gifting, then a small flat-fee push with creators who liked the product.
* **If you have a loyal community** : Try a challenge or missions, since your community does the recruiting.
* **If partners have gone quiet** : Try a promo calendar or a bonus before raising your rate.

## Frequently asked questions

### What is an example of an influencer marketing campaign?

In 2020, Dunkin' added Charli D'Amelio's usual order to its national menu as "The Charli", with a fan contest, a social takeover and a TikTok dance challenge. It worked as a campaign because the drink came from a true habit of hers.

### What makes an influencer campaign work?

A clear goal, creators whose audience matches your buyer, one simple idea, and tracking that shows what happened. The format matters less than whether the creator has a real reason to talk about your product.

### Can a small brand run these influencer campaigns?

Yes, in smaller versions. A bundle named for a creator, a 30-day challenge with one prize, or a monthly email to your partners can each run on a small budget. Bounties and commissions cost nothing until a sale happens.

### How do you measure an influencer campaign?

Give each creator a tracked link and count orders, revenue and new customers against what you spent. Reach and engagement show whether people noticed, and sales show whether the campaign paid off.
