Last updated: 2026-10-19 SmartyTap is Chargezen's email and text marketing. You send campaigns and automated flows to the customers who agreed to hear from you, with your subscription, loyalty and order data in the same place, so the right message reaches the right person. You'll find it in the Chargezen admin at admin.chargezen.com, under **SmartyTap**. ## Find your way around The SmartyTap menu has these sections: * **Overview**: your contacts, open conversations and campaigns at a glance, and a chat where you can ask for help planning your next campaign. * **Inbox**: **Compose** and **All inbox**, for replies from customers. * **Campaigns**: **All campaigns**, **New campaign**, **All flows**, **Flow templates**, **Recent flow runs**, **Templates**, **Scheduled** and **History**. * **Calls**: including **Phone Numbers**, where you see each number's texting approval. * **Audience**: **Contacts**, **Lists**, **Segments**, **Tags**, **Imports**, **Unsubscribed** and **Blocked**. * **Tools**: **Collect Subscribers** (sign-up forms), **Integrations**, **Surveys**, **Carrier Lookups** and **Content Hub**. * **Analytics**: **Dashboard**, **Campaign Performance**, **Email Analytics**, **Revenue Attribution** and more. * **Settings**: **Settings**, **SMS Setup**, **Voice Setup**, **Email Setup** and **Messaging Profiles**. ## Set up in this order 1 #### Connect your store If you sell on Shopify, Chargezen brings in your customers and their email and SMS marketing consent. SmartyTap works with contacts on their own, too. 2 #### Bring in your contacts Import a CSV of subscribers and set up sign-up forms. See [Contacts and consent](https://chargezen.com/docs/smartytap/getting-started/contacts-and-consent). 3 #### Authenticate your email domain Add the SPF, DKIM and DMARC records SmartyTap gives you in **Settings > Email Setup**. See [Email domain authentication](https://chargezen.com/docs/smartytap/sending-and-compliance/email-domain-authentication). 4 #### Get a texting number approved Pick a toll-free number in **Settings > SMS Setup** and get it verified, or register a local number, or bring the number you text from today. See [10DLC and toll-free registration](https://chargezen.com/docs/smartytap/sending-and-compliance/10dlc-and-toll-free). 5 #### Set your sending rules Choose your [quiet hours](https://chargezen.com/docs/smartytap/sending-and-compliance/quiet-hours), and check how [Smart Sending](https://chargezen.com/docs/smartytap/sending-and-compliance/smart-sending) and [opt-outs](https://chargezen.com/docs/smartytap/sending-and-compliance/opt-in-and-opt-out) protect your list. 6 #### Send your first campaign Go to **Campaigns > New campaign**, pick an audience, write your email or text, choose the send time and launch. First-run checklist New workspaces see a SmartyTap checklist: **Personalize Smartytap setup** (how people opt in, which channels you'll use and your monthly email volume), **Configure sender identity**, **Import contacts** and **Draft your first lifecycle flow**. It follows the same order as this page. ## Pricing SmartyTap Starter is **$20/month** and Pro is **$199/month**. Texts cost **2ยข per part**, paid from SMS credits you top up in **Settings > Settings > Balance & Billing**.
