# Migrating to Spark!

Move your affiliate program to Spark! from another platform: export your data, rebuild commissions, invite partners, issue new links, then switch.

Moving platforms is mostly about your partner list. Spark! has no one-click or file import from another platform, so partners come over by invitation or by applying through your sign-up page. Plan for a few weeks of running both programs, and nobody loses a sale in the move.

## Step by step

#### Export from your old platform

Download your partner list (names, emails, commission rates) and your sales and payout reports. Your history stays with the old platform, so keep the files.

#### Set up your program

In **Spark! > Partners > Settings**, set your program name and logo, whether new creators are approved automatically, your starting commission, your attribution window (match the old platform's cookie length if you can), your default landing page and your payout schedule. Saving opens your program.

#### Rebuild your commissions

In **Commission Profiles**, create one profile for each rate you pay today, with any shopper discount. See [Discount codes](https://chargezen.com/docs/spark/brand-guides/discount-codes).

#### Fund the balance

Record a deposit under **Finance** so your first payouts aren't blocked. See [Funding the payout balance](https://chargezen.com/docs/spark/brand-guides/funding-payouts).

#### Turn on tracking and test it

Switch on the **Chargezen Affiliates** app embed in your theme and run one test order. See [Testing your tracking](https://chargezen.com/docs/spark/brand-guides/testing-tracking).

#### Add your partners

From **Spark! > Partners**, invite each partner with their first name, last name and email, and choose their commission profile. Adding a partner doesn't email them, so tell them yourself (the email on [Switch to Spark!](https://chargezen.com/spark/switch) is a good start). Or send everyone your program's sign-up link so they apply.

#### Issue new links

Give each partner a Spark! tracking link from their partner page, or let them create their own in the creator portal. Old links keep crediting your old platform, so ask partners to swap links everywhere they share.

#### Run both, then switch off

Keep the old program open at least as long as its cookie window, so sales from older clicks are still credited there. Pay out what it owes, then close it.

What doesn't move

Past orders, commissions and payouts stay with your old platform. Spark! credits sales from the day your new links go live. Old links can't be pointed at Spark!, because the click is recorded by whichever platform issued the link.

## FAQ

### Can I upload a CSV of my affiliates?

No. Spark! has no bulk import. Invite partners one by one, or share your sign-up page so they apply themselves.

### Can partners keep their discount codes?

You can create the same code on a Spark! commission profile, as long as the old platform's code is removed from Shopify first. Remember that Spark! credits the click, not the code.

### Will Spark! bring me new affiliates?

No. Spark! is affiliate and creator software, not an affiliate network. You bring your partners and keep the relationship.
