# Creator contracts

Write a creator contract in Spark! with deliverables, pay, usage rights and exclusivity, send it for signature, and see when the creator signs it.

Last updated: 2026-10-19

A contract puts the deal with a creator in writing: what they’ll make, what you’ll pay, how long you can use their content and whether they can work with competitors. You write it in **Spark! → LaunchPad → Contracts**, send it, and the creator reads and signs it in their Spark! portal. No PDFs, no e-signature app.

## Create a contract

1

#### Contract basics

Go to **Contracts → Create Contract**. Enter a **Contract Name** (for example “Creator Name - Campaign Name”), pick a **Contract Template**, choose the **Campaign** and then the **Creator** from that campaign.

2

#### Timeline and deliverables

Set the **Start Date** and **End Date**. List the **Deliverables**, one per line, each with what makes it acceptable.

3

#### Payment and additional terms

Enter the **Contract Value** and pick **Payment Terms**: upon content approval, 50% upfront and 50% on completion, Net 30 after completion, a performance payout (CPC, CPL or CPS), pay per 1,000 views, or custom. Write anything else in **Additional Terms**.

4

#### Rights and exclusivity

Choose **Content Usage Rights** (6 months, 1 year, perpetual or campaign duration only). Turn on the **Exclusivity clause** if the creator can’t work with direct competitors, and set the **Exclusivity Period (days)**.

5

#### Save or send

**Save Draft** keeps it with your team. **Send for Signature** sends it to the creator. Sending is the only way a contract leaves draft.

## Contract templates

| Template | For |
| --- | --- |
| Influencer Post / Paid UGC | Paid posts and UGC videos. |
| Product Seeding Agreement | Gifted products in exchange for content. |
| Affiliate + Rewards Agreement | Commission and performance rewards. |
| Meta/TikTok Ads + Whitelisting | Running the creator’s posts as Meta Partnership Ads or TikTok Spark Ads. |
| TikTok Shop Collaboration | Shoppable TikTok videos for your TikTok Shop. |
| Content Rewards (CPM) | Pay per 1,000 views. |
| Custom | Anything else. Write the terms yourself. |

## How the creator signs

1. The contract shows under **Contracts** in the creator’s portal, marked ready to sign.
2. They read the summary, deliverables and terms. If you didn’t add written terms, the summary is the agreement.
3. They tick “I have read this contract and agree to its terms,” type their full name and choose **Sign contract**.
4. They can **Download copy** at any time: a plain-text copy with both parties, the campaign, term, pay, deliverables, rights, exclusivity, terms and the signature line.

Only the creator can sign. Teammates the creator adds to their portal can read contracts from the manager role up, but can’t sign for them. A contract can be signed once: a repeated or late signature changes nothing.

## Contract statuses

| Status | What it means |
| --- | --- |
| Draft | Only your team sees it. You can still edit it. |
| Pending Signature | Sent. The creator can read and sign it in their portal. |
| Signed | The creator signed it. Their typed name and the time are saved with the contract. |
| Expired | It can no longer be signed. |
| Cancelled | You cancelled it. The creator no longer sees it. |

The Contracts page sums up your **Draft Contracts**, contracts **Pending Signature**, **Signed Contracts** and their **Signed Value**. Search by contract, creator, campaign or template, or filter by status.

Creators the portal can reach

Creators in your program read and sign in their portal. A contract with a TikTok creator you found through discovery and outreach, who hasn’t joined your program yet, can be drafted and tracked in Spark!, but they can’t sign it in a portal until they join.

Not legal advice

Spark!’s templates are a starting point, not legal advice. Have your own counsel check the terms you send, especially usage rights, exclusivity and disclosure rules where you sell.

## Common questions

### Can I change a contract after sending it?

Edit the draft before you send it. Once it’s sent, cancel it and send a new one if the deal changes, so the creator signs exactly what you agreed.

### Does a campaign stop creators from posting before they sign?

The campaign builder has a “Require signed contract before content creation” setting, and creators see it on the campaign. Check for a signed contract before you approve submissions.
