# Installation

Step-by-step installation guide for Spark! on Shopify

This guide walks you through installing Spark! on your Shopify store. The process takes about 5 minutes and doesn't require any coding knowledge.

##### Existing Chargezen Users

If you already have the Chargezen app installed, Spark! is available in your dashboard immediately. Simply navigate to the Spark! section to enable it.

## Verify Installation

To confirm Spark! is installed correctly:

*   Open your storefront in an incognito/private browser window
*   Open Developer Tools (F12 or right-click → Inspect)
*   Go to the Network tab and filter by "spark"
*   Refresh the page and look for requests to spark.chargezen.com

##### Installation Diagnostics

Run the built-in diagnostics from Spark! Settings → Installation → Run Diagnostics. This checks tracking pixel installation, cookie settings, and API connectivity.

## Custom Domain Setup (Optional)

For a professional affiliate portal, set up a custom domain:

1.  Add a CNAME record pointing to `portal.chargezen.com`
2.  Enter your custom domain in Spark! Settings → Portal → Custom Domain
3.  Wait for SSL certificate provisioning (usually under 5 minutes)

## Theme Integration

Spark! automatically integrates with your Shopify theme. For advanced customization:

*   **Affiliate Link Badge** — Show "Referred by \[Name\]" on cart/checkout
*   **Share Widget** — Add "Become an Affiliate" buttons to pages
*   **Referral Tracking** — Display referral credit on thank you page

## Common Installation Issues

**Tracking pixel not loading:** Check if you have ad blockers or privacy extensions that might block the tracking script. Spark! uses first-party tracking to minimize blocking issues.

**Portal showing 404:** Ensure the Spark! portal route is enabled in your Shopify theme's URL settings. Some themes require manual route configuration.

**Orders not attributing:** Verify the tracking cookie is being set by checking browser cookies for `_spark_ref`. Cookie duration defaults to 30 days.
