# Benchmarks and insights

Compare your subscription numbers with an industry reference on the Benchmarks tab, and see what needs attention first on the Insights page.

Last updated: 2026-10-18

Two places help you decide what to work on. **Benchmarks** puts your numbers next to a published industry reference. **Insights** ranks what needs attention across your dashboards, money at stake first.

## Benchmarks

1

#### Open the tab

Go to **Subscriptions → Analytics → Dashboards** and choose **Benchmarks**.

2

#### Pick a month and vertical

Use **Month:** and **Vertical:**. The banner names the reference the medians come from.

3

#### Read each card

Each card shows your value next to the median, rated Better than median, Worse than median, Above median, Below median or At median. A month that hasn't ended shows In progress.

The cards cover:

* **% of checkout orders with a subscription**
* **Active churn**: subscribers who cancelled.
* **Passive churn**: subscriptions lost to payments that never went through.
*   **AOV**: average order size.
* **Renewal rate**, **Payment error rate** and **Recovery rate**.

A reference, not a ranking

Chargezen doesn't hold other stores' results, so cards compare your value with a published median rather than placing you in a percentile.

## Insights

Open **Subscriptions → Analytics → AI Insights**. The page lists what needs attention, with totals for Insights, Critical, Revenue at risk and Retention and growth. Filter by All insights, Revenue at risk, Growth, Retention or Outlook, and dismiss a card once you've dealt with it.

* **Where the numbers come from**: every figure comes from the dashboard that shows it: order errors, cancellations, renewals, cohorts, checkout and upcoming orders.
* **What's compared**: the last 30 days against the 30 before, and last month against the Benchmarks reference.
* **How they're ranked**: money at stake first, then the largest gaps, then what's coming up.
* **How fresh**: rebuilt daily and whenever you choose **Refresh**.

Each insight has a button to the place to act on it, such as Review order errors, Review churn, Review renewals, Open cohorts, View upcoming orders, Review cancellation offers or Open upsell analytics.

## Troubleshooting

### Insights says nothing needs attention

That category has no finding right now. Switch the filter to All insights, or choose Refresh after a busy day of renewals.

### My store isn't in the listed vertical

Use the medians as a rough guide and watch your own trend on the dashboards with Compare to: Previous period.
