# Quick actions

Create one-tap skip, ship-now, swap, add-on and reactivate links for Klaviyo or SmartyTap emails and texts. Subscribers don't need to sign in.

Last updated: 2026-10-18

A quick action is a link that makes one change to a subscription when the subscriber taps it: skip the next order, ship it now, swap the product, add something, or restart a cancelled subscription. No sign-in, no hunting through a portal. Put them in the emails and texts you already send from Klaviyo or SmartyTap. Open **Subscriptions → Customer experience → Quick actions**.

## Before you start

To use quick actions in Klaviyo, connect your Klaviyo account in Chargezen first. Chargezen then sends subscription events, such as **Chargezen Upcoming Order** and **Chargezen Subscription Started**, that your Klaviyo flows can start from. SmartyTap has the same quick actions built in, so you can send these links from SmartyTap emails and texts instead.

## Create a quick action

1

#### Start

Choose **Create quick action**. The editor opens on the **URL Builder**.

2

#### Choose the action

Under **What would you like to do?**, pick an action, for example **Skip next order**.

3

#### Choose how it is sent

Under **Will your quick actions be sent via metric trigger or via campaign?**, pick the Klaviyo event your flow starts from, such as **Upcoming order on Chargezen**, or **Campaign** for a one-off send.

4

#### Copy the code block

Chargezen writes the **Klaviyo quick action code block** for you. Choose **Copy code block**.

5

#### Add it to your email

In Klaviyo, paste the code block as the link of a button in your email, then send yourself a test. Back in Chargezen, choose **Save** to keep the quick action in your list.

## Actions and where they can be sent

Each action can only be sent from the events where it makes sense. In the editor, events read like "Upcoming order on Chargezen".

| What would you like to do? | Sent from |
| --- | --- |
| View your customer portal | Subscription started, Upcoming order, Upcoming (prepaid) order, Subscription cancelled, Subscription expired, Charge error, Campaign |
| Ship next order now | Subscription started, Upcoming order |
| Skip next order | Subscription started, Upcoming order |
| Add one-time product to the next order | Subscription started, Upcoming order, Campaign |
| Add one-time product to the next order and apply a discount | Subscription started, Upcoming order, Campaign |
| Swap current subscription | Subscription started, Upcoming order, Campaign |
| Apply discount to next order | Subscription started, Upcoming order, Campaign |
| Reactivate cancelled subscription | Subscription started, Campaign |
| Reactivate cancelled subscription & apply discount code | Subscription started, Campaign |
| Reactivate cancelled subscription & add one-time product | Subscription started, Campaign |

Best places to use them

Skip and ship-now links belong in the upcoming order email, when subscribers decide whether they need the next box. Add-on and swap links work well in welcome emails and product launch campaigns. Reactivate links belong in win-back campaigns.

## Manage your quick actions

The list shows each quick action's **Action**, **Condition** and when it was created. Choose one to open it again and copy its code block. To remove one, choose **Delete** and confirm **Delete this quick action?**. Creating, changing or deleting quick actions needs the **Manage subscription flows** permission.

## Troubleshooting

### The event I want isn't in the list

Some actions only make sense at certain moments. For example, skip and ship-now links aren't offered for campaigns, because a campaign isn't tied to an upcoming order. Check the table above.

### The link didn't change anything

Make sure the email was sent from the matching Klaviyo flow or campaign, so the link carries the subscriber's details, and that the code block was pasted whole as the button link. Test by sending the email to yourself as a subscriber.

### Can I use quick actions without Klaviyo?

Yes. SmartyTap has the same quick actions for its emails and texts.
