# Swap and portal products

Choose which products subscribers can swap to in the portal, limit swaps to certain plans, and add a benefits card for a product journey.

Letting subscribers swap flavors or sizes keeps them subscribed when they get bored of one product. This screen decides which products they can swap to, and for which plans. Open **Subscriptions → Catalog → Products** (the page is called **Subscription Products**).

## Set it up

#### Add a product

Choose **Add product**.

#### Choose the plans it applies to

Under **Associated selling plan**, keep **All selling plans** so every subscriber can swap to these products, or choose **Choose selling plan** and pick plans with **Browse**.

#### Pick the type

Under **Subscription product type**, choose **Swap products**, **Bundle products** or **Product journey**.

#### Pick products

Under **Product**, search or browse for the products and variants.

#### Add content for a product journey

For Product journey, fill in **Rich Title** and **Rich Content** (HTML). This becomes the benefits card in the portal.

#### Set status and save

Set **Status** to Active or Draft in the summary, then choose **Save** in the **Unsaved changes** bar.

## Product types

| Type | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| Swap products | Customers with the selected selling plans can only swap to these products. |
| Bundle products | Marks products on your store that are sold with a selling plan as bundle products. |
| Product journey | Shows a subscription benefits card in the customer portal, with a title and content you write. |

How plan rules combine

Products set for **All selling plans** are the fallback. Customers on a plan with its own swap products see those instead.

## The products list

The list shows each entry's **Last updated** date, **Status**, **Associated SellingPlan**, **Type** and **Products**. Use **Filter** to show All, Active or Draft. Select a row to edit it.

## Troubleshooting

### Subscribers don't see a Change product option

Check that **Change product** is on in the launcher's Subscriptions settings and that **Swap products** is allowed in Self-Service Permissions. See [Customize the portal](https://chargezen.com/docs/subscriptions/portal-branding).

### Subscribers see the wrong products to swap to

A plan with its own swap products overrides the all-plans list. Open the entry for that plan and add the products you want, or remove it so the all-plans list applies.

### My changes don't show in the portal

Draft entries aren't used. Set the status to Active and save.
