Claude and AI Assistants (MCP)

Ask Claude "Which of my upsells did worst last month?" or "Add a travel mug upsell for carts over $50" and it works in your CheckoutOS account for you. Chargezen runs an MCP server, the open standard AI assistants use to reach other apps, and CheckoutOS has its own address on it.

In Claude Code, install the CheckoutOS plugin. It adds this server, teaches Claude the safe order (read, draft, preview, go live) and adds two commands: /checkout-audit reviews your checkout and ranks fixes without changing anything, and /upsell-experiment sets up an A/B test on one offer.

Then run /mcp, choose chargezen-checkoutos and sign in.

• Checkout upsells and A/B tests: create, edit, pause and reorder offers, start and end tests, and read offer and test results.
• Post-purchase upsells: build offers from templates, schedule them, check whether an offer would have shown for a past order, and read funnel results.
• Discounts and cart rules: product, order and shipping discounts, and rules that bundle or split cart lines.
• Checkout rules, messages and blocks: checkout rules, thank-you page messages, trust badges, address checks, and blocks such as reviews, banners and checkout chat.
• Branding and gift cards: checkout colors and fonts, and gift card designs.
• Checkout chat: read checkout conversations and reply to shoppers.
• Loyalty: your points program, tiers, rewards page, customer points and rewards emails.
• Customers and products: search them, so offers and replies use real records.

• New things start as drafts. A new upsell, discount, cart rule, checkout rule, message or badge is saved as a draft. Shoppers see nothing until you turn it on.
• Preview first. Discounts, cart rules, checkout rules, thank-you messages and trust badges have a preview, and post-purchase offers can be tested against a past order.
• Live edits are live. Editing an upsell that's on changes it at checkout right away, and applying branding to your published Shopify checkout changes it immediately.
• Big changes ask first. Saving, publishing, pausing and deleting offers, and other changes marked "asks first" in the catalog, need your OK. Claude and ChatGPT ask you before they run one. Other assistants show Chargezen's confirmation, where you can also choose to always allow that tool on that connection.

The assistant acts as the teammate who connected it, and Chargezen checks that teammate's role on every call. These are the role settings each kind of work needs:

If a role setting is missing, the assistant is told which one, and a workspace owner can change the role. Removing a teammate also ends their assistant's access.

Which assistants work?

Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT and any assistant that supports remote MCP servers with OAuth sign-in. Your assistant's plan needs to allow custom connectors.

Does it use credits?

No. Using CheckoutOS tools from an assistant doesn't use Chargezen credits.

How do I disconnect it?

Remove Chargezen in the assistant, or in Chargezen go to Concierge > Deploy > Channels > External MCP servers and click Disconnect (needs Concierge settings: Manage). Access stops right away.

Can one connection reach Subscriptions or SmartyTap too?

The /mcp/checkoutos address is just for CheckoutOS and loyalty. For every product, connect https://mcp.chargezen.com/mcp.
