Product detail page

Product detail page (PDP)

E-commerce

The page in an online store that shows one product, with its photos, description, price, options and the button to buy it.

What is Product detail page?

The product detail page, or PDP, is where most buying decisions get made. Shoppers arrive from search, ads, emails and social posts, often skipping the homepage entirely. What a strong PDP includes: - Clear photos and video, including the product in use. - A headline and description that say what the product does for the buyer. - Price, options (size, flavor, color) and stock shown plainly. - Shipping cost and delivery time before checkout, not after. - Reviews and answers to common questions. - One obvious add-to-cart button. For subscription products, the PDP also sells the plan. The choice between one-time purchase and subscribe should be easy to see, with the savings stated in dollars or percent, the delivery frequency options listed, and a short note that customers can skip or cancel anytime. Hiding the subscription option, or making it confusing, is one of the most common reasons few shoppers subscribe. Measure it. Track the rate from product view to add to cart, and the share of buyers who choose subscribe. Test one change at a time, such as which option is selected by default or how the savings are shown. How Chargezen handles it: Chargezen Subscriptions adds a plan picker block to your Shopify product pages, so shoppers choose one-time or subscribe, and a delivery frequency, right next to the buy button.

Example

A tea brand's PDP shows "One-time $18" and "Subscribe and save 15%: $15.30, every 4, 6 or 8 weeks." After it adds "Skip or cancel anytime" under the picker, more first-time buyers pick subscribe.

Why Product detail page Matters

The PDP is where a visitor becomes a buyer, and for a subscription brand, where a one-time buyer becomes a subscriber.
