Voucher attribution

Voucher attribution (code-based attribution)

Affiliates

Voucher attribution is crediting a sale to a partner because the shopper used that partner’s discount code (voucher), even without clicking a tracked link.

What is Voucher attribution?

Voucher or coupon attribution matches the code on an order to the partner who owns it. It catches sales link tracking misses, such as a viewer who heard a code in a podcast or video and typed it at checkout. The trade-off: codes leak. Once a code reaches coupon sites, browser extensions or group chats, code-only attribution pays partners for sales they didn’t drive. How Spark! handles it: Spark! can set up discount codes for creators, but credits a sale only when the shopper also tapped the creator’s tracked link in the same browser. A code typed on its own doesn’t earn a commission, so creators should share the link with the code.

Example

A podcaster reads out a code. A listener types it at checkout without clicking anything. Under voucher attribution the podcaster is credited; under link-based tracking they are not.

Why Voucher attribution Matters

Whether codes alone earn commission changes what partners promote and how much leaked codes cost you.

Voucher attribution FAQ

Is voucher attribution better than link tracking?

Voucher attribution catches offline and audio-driven sales, but leaked codes can be credited wrongly. Many brands combine the two.

Does Spark! credit a sale from a code alone?

No. Spark! credits an order when the shopper tapped the creator’s tracked link; the code works as the reason to tap it.
