Most Shopify subscription apps charge two things: a monthly base price and a fee on every subscription order. The base price is easy to compare. The per-order fee is what grows with you, and above a few hundred orders a month it is usually the larger number.
Annual cost at three order volumes
Each row uses the app's main published plan for growing brands and assumes every order is a subscription order with a $50 average order value.

Apps with no transaction fees
- Appstle: Free plan, then $10, $30 and $100 a month, each listed with a 0% transaction fee.
- Seal Subscriptions: Free up to 50 subscriptions, then tiers from $5.95 to $24.95 a month up to 500 subscriptions, all with 0% fees.
- Chargezen: Subscriptions is $199 a month or $1,990 a year for Shopify Advanced and Shopify Plus stores, with no commission or per-order fee.
How to read the table
- Features differ: The cheapest app is not automatically the right one. Check that bundles, SMS, a customer portal, payment recovery and analytics are on the plan you would actually buy.
- Fees scale, flat prices do not: At 20,000 orders a month, a 1% fee on a $50 order is $120,000 a year before the base price.
- Ask about volume rates: Recharge, Loop, Stay AI, Skio and Smartrr all offer custom or negotiated pricing for larger brands. Use the published numbers as your ceiling.
