New York runs from Manhattan's 212 to Buffalo's 716. Most of the state's area codes now come in overlay pairs or groups, so a new number in the same town can start with either code. Get a New York number for calls and texts, and let Concierge answer it.
New York City has two overlay groups. Manhattan shares 212, 646 and 332. The Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island share 718, 347, 929 and 465, which NANPA lists as in service from June 2026. The 917 code covers all five boroughs, so it belongs to both groups.
Outside the city, Long Island splits into 516 and 363 in Nassau County and 631 and 934 in Suffolk County. Upstate, Albany and the Capital Region use 518 and 838, Syracuse and central New York use 315 and 680, Buffalo uses 716 and 624, and Rochester uses 585. Westchester keeps 914, and the Hudson Valley uses 845 and 329.
All of New York is on Eastern time.
