Find out whether order size is really going up.

Ask whether your average order value is rising or falling. Concierge totals each month, compares the latest month with the one before, and calls a change real only when the numbers back it up.

The problem

A higher average one month might be a real shift or just a few big orders. This playbook adds a statistics check, so you don't celebrate, or panic over, a change that is only noise.

What it reads.

Your orders

Each order's net total and when it was placed.

Your calendar

Months follow your workspace's time zone.

Known totals only

Orders with an unknown net total are set aside and counted.

A statistics check

A Welch t-test gives a 95% confidence range for the change in the average.

The steps it follows.

  1. 1

    Prepare the data

Concierge prepares a private copy of your orders, leaving out cancelled ones unless you ask, and opens it on its own computer.

  2. 2

    Group by month

Per month: orders, net revenue, average order value and median order value.

  3. 3

    Test the change

The latest month against the one before, or the comparison you ask for, with a 95% confidence range.

  4. 4

    Chart it

A line chart of monthly average order value, saved as a PNG.

A worked example.

A made-up store, to show how the playbook works from question to answer.

The store
A home goods brand that raised its free-shipping minimum in April.
The question
"Did average order value go up after we raised the free-shipping minimum in April?"
What Concierge does
Prepares orders, leaves out cancelled ones, groups by month in the store's time zone, and compares April with March, the comparison you named.
What comes back
A monthly table of orders, net revenue, average and median order value; the change from March to April with its 95% confidence range; a plain verdict; and a line chart.
How to read it
If the range includes zero, the playbook won't call the change real. That isn't a no; it means there isn't enough evidence yet. Watch the median too: if the average rose but the median didn't, a few large orders may be doing the work.
A good next question
"Compare April through June with January through March."

This store is invented for illustration. It is not a Chargezen customer, and no results are shown: your answer depends on your own data.

Run it, then make it yours.

You don't need to name the playbook. Concierge reads each playbook's "When to use" line and opens the one that fits your question.

In the Chargezen admin
Type your question in Ask Concierge, for example: "Did average order value go up after we raised the free-shipping minimum in April?" Concierge does the work and replies with the answer and any files.
In ChatGPT or Claude
Connect Chargezen to ChatGPT or Claude, then ask Concierge from the chat. The request goes to your workspace's own agent, with the same playbooks, and the reply comes back to the chat.
In the Finn app for iPhone
Type or dictate the question in the chat box on Home and send it to your agent. It's the same agent with the same playbooks.
Change the steps
Open Concierge > Build > Playbooks, pick Average order value trend and edit the instructions. Edits apply to new requests; work already under way keeps the version it started with.
Use your definitions
If you've saved a definition for a term the playbook uses, like what counts as an active customer, Concierge applies yours instead and prints it in the answer.
Choose who uses it
It starts switched on for your workspace's operator agents that can analyze store data. Switch it on for other agents under Agents, archive it, or click New Playbook to write your own.

What you get back.

Month by month

Orders, revenue, average and median for every month.

Real or noise

A change is called real only when its range leaves out zero.

Every Concierge workspace starts with these playbooks. Ask a question in plain English and see the numbers and the work behind them.

Common questions

Whether your average order value is rising or falling, month by month, and whether the latest change is large enough to be real rather than noise.

After a price change, a free-shipping threshold, a bundle launch or an upsell test, or any time someone says order size is up or down.

The average moves with a few very large orders; the median shows what a typical order looks like. When they move differently, it is worth asking why.

No. Concierge sees the title and "When to use" line of every published playbook switched on for the agent, and opens the full steps only when one fits your question. You can still say "use the Average order value trend playbook" to be sure.

Yes. It's your workspace's playbook: edit the steps, rename it, switch it on for other agents, archive it or delete it under Concierge > Build > Playbooks. A deleted default playbook stays deleted.

Running a playbook is a Concierge job, so it uses your workspace credits like any other job when Concierge runs on Chargezen-managed AI models. Concierge Starter is $20 a month with 20,000 credits. Pro is $199 a month with 199,000 credits, or $1,990 a year.
