Always-on AI agent
AI
An always-on AI agent runs in the cloud around the clock, answering requests and doing scheduled work even when nobody on the team is watching.
For example, a store's always-on agent answers order questions overnight, and at 7 a.m. every day it checks for orders stuck in fulfillment. On most days it sends nothing; on the day three orders are stuck, the team gets a short report with the order numbers.
Customers and problems do not keep office hours. An always-on agent covers the hours your team is away without adding shifts.
No one needs to watch it live, but someone should set its rules: what it may do alone, what needs approval and when to alert the team. Review its history regularly while you are getting started.
Not quite. An automation runs fixed steps when a trigger fires. An always-on agent decides what to do from a goal and what it finds, and can handle requests nobody wrote a rule for.
