Drip campaign

Drip campaign

Email Marketing

A drip campaign is a set of emails sent on a fixed schedule after someone joins, such as one email every few days for two weeks.

What is Drip campaign?

A drip campaign "drips" content over time instead of sending it all at once. It is the older name for what most ecommerce tools now call a flow, though a drip is usually time-based only, while a flow can also react to what a customer does. Common uses: onboarding new subscribers, teaching people how to use a product, or nurturing someone who isn't ready to buy yet.

Example

A kitchenware store sends a five-email recipe series to new subscribers, one email every three days.

Why Drip campaign Matters

Drips keep new contacts warm while their interest is fresh, without manual sends.

Drip campaign FAQ

Is a drip campaign the same as a flow?

Mostly. A drip runs on a timer; a flow can also branch on actions, like skipping the next email for someone who already bought.

How many emails should a drip campaign have?

Enough to deliver what you promised at signup, often three to six. Stop the series for anyone who buys.
