Welcome flow

Welcome flow (welcome series)

Email Marketing

A welcome flow is an automated series of emails or texts sent to new subscribers right after they sign up.

What is Welcome flow?

A welcome flow catches people at their highest interest: the moment they joined. It usually delivers any promised discount, introduces the brand and points to best-sellers. A common shape: email one right away (the offer), email two a day or two later (your story or best-sellers), email three a few days later (reviews or a reminder that the offer expires). Stop the series for anyone who buys. In SmartyTap, the welcome flow is live, and the popup and embedded forms that bring new subscribers in sit in the same tool.

Example

A new subscriber gets the 10% code in a minute, a "why our customers stay" email two days later, and a last-chance reminder on day five.

Why Welcome flow Matters

It's usually the first message a new subscriber gets from you, and it sets their expectations for every message after.

Welcome flow FAQ

How many emails should a welcome flow have?

Three to five is common. Deliver the promise first, then introduce the brand.

Should the welcome flow include texts?

If the subscriber gave texting consent, one welcome text is a good start. Keep the rest in email.

What is the difference between a welcome flow and onboarding?

A welcome flow greets new subscribers; onboarding helps new customers or subscribers get value from what they bought.
