Social selling

Social selling

E-commerce

Social selling is using social media to find, talk with and build trust with potential customers, one conversation at a time, so they buy.

What is Social selling?

Social selling began in B2B, where sales reps use their profiles to share useful posts and start conversations. In consumer brands it looks like founders, staff, stylists or ambassadors answering questions in comments and direct messages and recommending products personally. Not the same as ads: social selling is personal and two-way. Posts and replies come from a person, not a brand account, and the aim is trust that turns into a sale later.

Example

A jewelry brand’s stylist answers sizing questions in Instagram messages and sends a personal checkout link. Several of those chats become orders each week.

Why Social selling Matters

People buy from people they trust. A real reply often beats another ad.

Social selling FAQ

Is social selling only for B2B?

No. Consumer brands use it too, through founders, staff, stylists and ambassadors who answer questions and recommend products.

How do you measure social selling?

To measure social selling, track conversations started, links shared and orders from those links, for example with a tracked link per seller.
