ChatGPT, Claude and MCP
Connect ChatGPT, Claude or another AI assistant to your Chargezen workspace through MCP, see who is connected, and manage the integrations your agents use.

Your team may already spend the day in ChatGPT or Claude. Connect Chargezen to it and they can look up orders, customers and subscriptions, pull reports, make changes their role allows, or hand a job to Concierge without leaving the chat. The connection uses MCP (Model Context Protocol), the open standard AI assistants use to reach other apps.
This guide also covers the Integrations page, where you connect the other services your agents use. For every address, the sign-in details and the full list of tools, see the Chargezen MCP server page.
Connect ChatGPT, Claude or another assistant
Connections start in the assistant, not in Chargezen. This server URL reaches every Chargezen product. To give the assistant only Concierge's tools, use https://mcp.chargezen.com/mcp/concierge instead.
https://mcp.chargezen.com/mcpAdd the server in your assistant
In ChatGPT, Claude, or any assistant that supports remote MCP servers, add a custom connector (it may be called a custom MCP connector or remote MCP server) and paste the server URL. In Claude Code, add it as a remote server; Chargezen accepts the local sign-in Claude Code uses.
Sign in to Chargezen
The assistant opens a Chargezen sign-in page. Sign in with your Chargezen account. New to Chargezen? You can create an account on the same screen. There's no API key to copy.
Choose the workspace and allow
Pick the workspace to connect, review what the assistant may do, and select Allow. One connection reaches one workspace.
Ask away
Back in the assistant, ask in plain words: "Which orders from the last seven days haven't shipped yet?" The assistant works in that workspace as you, with your permissions.
In the Chargezen admin, the same steps are listed under Concierge > Deploy > Channels > External MCP servers: click Manage servers, then Connect a server to see the server URL and copy it.
What a connected assistant can do
When you allow the connection, Chargezen lists everything the assistant will be able to do. With the Concierge address it can:
- Ask Concierge: hand Concierge, the workspace's AI agent, a job and get its reply in the chat. Concierge asks you to approve consequential actions, just as it does in Chargezen (see Approvals).
- Read directly: your agents and their setup, workspace knowledge and media, Shopify orders and fulfillment orders, store locations, shipping zones, and reports (sales by SKU, inventory, fulfillment status, shipments).
- Run loyalty: your points program, customer points and rewards emails.
The whole-platform address adds the tools of every other product, such as subscriptions, checkout offers and SmartyTap campaigns. Calls, call recordings and voicemail aren't available from an assistant. See every tool in the MCP tool catalog.
"Ask Concierge to sum up last week's customer conversations: how many came in, on which channels, and the five most common topics." Or: "What were last month's new subscriptions and cancellations, and who cancelled?" More examples are on ChatGPT and Claude.
Permissions and who's connected
The assistant acts as the teammate who connected it. Chargezen checks that teammate's access on every request, so it can never do more than they can, and removing a teammate from the workspace also ends their assistant's access.
Changes that delete, replace or publish something ask first. ChatGPT and Claude ask you before they run one; other assistants show Chargezen's confirmation, where you can also choose to always allow that tool on that connection.
To disconnect an assistant you connected, open Connected accounts in your account menu and click Disconnect next to it. If you manage a product's settings, the same page links to every assistant your teammates connected to that product, and you can disconnect those too. A disconnected assistant loses access right away. A teammate can connect it again from the assistant.
Credits
Using Chargezen's tools from an assistant doesn't use credits, whether it reads or makes a change. Work you ask Concierge to do uses your workspace's credits when Concierge runs on Chargezen-managed AI models, the same as working with Concierge in Chargezen. If your balance runs out, add credits before asking Concierge from an assistant again (see Credits and usage).
Connecting ChatGPT or Claude to Chargezen lets you use your workspace from those apps. Choosing which AI model runs your Concierge agents is a separate setting, covered in Bring your own model.
Integrations your agents use
Agents also work with the services your business runs on. Connect them on the Integrations page (Deploy > Integrations in the Concierge menu). Integrations are grouped by category, such as Commerce, Marketing, Support, Collaboration and AI.
Open the service
Pick a category, then the service. Its page has an About tab and a Setup tab.
Connect
Services that use a sign-in show Authorize: click it and approve access on the service's own screen. Services that use keys show fields to fill in; enter them and click Connect.
Let agents use it
On each agent's Configure Agent page, tick the matching capabilities under Capabilities. An agent only uses the tools you give it.
To reconnect a service whose access expired, open it and click Reauthorize, or update the key field. To remove it, click Disconnect. See the full list on Concierge integrations.
Troubleshooting and FAQ
I connected an assistant but it isn't listed
Refresh External MCP servers. The assistant appears under Connected servers once you've finished signing in and selected Allow.
The assistant is reading the wrong workspace
Each connection reaches one workspace. Disconnect it, then connect again from the assistant and pick the right workspace.
The assistant says it can't make a change
It has your permissions, no more, and Chargezen tells it which permission is missing. Ask a workspace owner to change your role.
Who can connect an assistant?
Any active teammate in the workspace. The connection keeps that teammate's permissions.
