Translations
Add a version of a SmartyTap email or text in another language. Customers whose language matches get it, and everyone else gets the original.

People read, click and buy more in their own language. A campaign can carry a version of any message for each language you sell in. SmartyTap sends each customer the version in their language and the original to everyone else, so nobody gets two.
Add a translated version
Select the message
In your campaign, select the email or text you want in another language.
Pick the language
Under Languages, choose a Language and click Translate.
Write it
SmartyTap adds a copy of the message that says who it goes to ("Goes to people whose language is Spanish"). Write the translated subject, preview text and content in that copy.
Set its send time
Give the new version its send time, then review and schedule the campaign as usual.
SmartyTap copies the message for you; it doesn't machine-translate it. Write or paste the translation yourself, ideally checked by a native speaker.
Who gets which version
- A translated version goes only to customers whose saved language matches it.
- The original goes to everyone else, including customers with no saved language.
- Customers set their language on the preference page, and it can also come from your store. You can segment on it with the Language condition.
FAQ
Can I add a translation after scheduling?
No. Add translations before the message is scheduled, since scheduling locks its recipients.
How many languages can a campaign have?
Add a version for each language you need. Each is its own message in the campaign, with its own send time and settings.
Do flows support translations?
Translations are a campaign feature. For a flow in another language, build a segment with the Language condition and use it in a Segment membership Split, so each path sends its own email.
