Local-time sending
Send a SmartyTap campaign at the time you choose in each recipient’s time zone, decide what happens when that time has passed, and respect quiet hours.

A 10 a.m. email is a great idea in New York and a bad one in Los Angeles, where it lands at 7. With local-time sending, you pick the time and SmartyTap delivers it at that hour wherever each customer lives.
You choose the send time. SmartyTap doesn't guess it for you; it applies your time in each recipient's time zone.
Send in each recipient's time zone
Edit timing
In your campaign, select the message and click Edit timing, then Schedule once.
Pick the time
Set the Scheduled send time, for example 10:00 a.m. on Friday.
Choose the time basis
Under Time basis, choose Each recipient's timezone. The message now reads Recipient's local time.
Decide on late time zones
Under If the send time has passed, choose what happens for people whose 10 a.m. is already gone when you schedule: Skip this message, Send the next day at the same local time, or Send right away.
To send at one moment for everyone instead, choose Specific timezone and pick the Send timezone.
Which time zone SmartyTap uses
- The time zone saved on the SmartyTap contact.
- If there isn't one, the time zone on the customer's profile.
- If there still isn't one, your workspace time zone.
You can see and segment on it: Stored timezone is a condition under Customer profile in Segments.
Quiet hours for texts
Texts have a second safety net. With Quiet hours on for the message, texts wait until quiet hours end in the customer's local time, even if you picked Send right away. When a contact has no saved time zone, SmartyTap works it out from their phone number. Set the hours in SMS settings under Quiet Hours Schedule.
A/B tests that pick a winner can't use each recipient's time zone, because the winner has to go out after the test. Use a specific time zone, or a test size of 100%.
