Memberships program

Memberships program

Subscriptions

A paid program that gives members extra perks, such as member pricing, free shipping or early access, for a recurring fee.

What is Memberships program?

A membership is a subscription to benefits rather than to a product. Members pay a monthly or yearly fee and get perks on every order, like member-only prices, free shipping, early access to drops or exclusive products. How it differs from a loyalty program: loyalty programs are usually free and reward spending after the fact. Paid memberships ask for a fee upfront, which tends to make members want to get their money's worth by shopping with you more often. Perks are controlled by entitlements that turn on when the fee is paid and off when the membership ends.

Example

For example, a home goods store might charge $49 a year for free shipping and 10% off everything. A member who places eight orders a year that would each have cost $8 to ship saves $64 on shipping alone.

Why Memberships program Matters

A membership gives your best customers a reason to buy from you first, and gives you a steady fee on top of their orders.
