Customers save their birthday once. On the day, Chargezen adds their birthday points and sends the birthday email, once a year.
What is a birthday email?
A birthday email is a yearly message on a customer’s birthday, usually with a small gift. In Chargezen it comes with Rewards: on the day, the customer gets your birthday points, plus any tier bonus, and an email telling them so.
It runs on the Rewards birthday rule rather than a flow trigger, with the same idea: a trigger, a rule and an email.
| Part | Setting | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Trigger | The customer’s birthday | Chargezen checks for birthdays once a day. |
| Where the birthday comes from | The customer saves it in your rewards panel, or your team adds it | The first saved birthday counts, so it can’t be changed to collect points twice. |
| Reward | Your "Celebrate a birthday" points, plus the customer’s tier birthday bonus | Higher tiers can get more on their birthday. |
| Re-entry | Once per calendar year | Points are awarded at most once a year, even if the check runs again. |
| When the birthday is first saved | Birthday points can be awarded then too | Thanks customers for telling you. |
| The Rewards points email | Tells the customer what they got. Edit it with your other Rewards emails. |
In Rewards, set how many points a birthday earns.
Customers add theirs in the rewards panel; your team can add it too.
Make the birthday email sound like you.
