A library of SmartyTap flows that run today. Each one shows its trigger, filters, re-entry rule, steps and timing, with an example email you can adapt.
What is a SmartyTap flow?
A SmartyTap flow is an automation that starts when a customer does something, like placing an order or viewing a product, and then runs steps for that customer: emails, waits, order tags and Splits. Flows run from Shopify order events and the Chargezen storefront pixel, so each email can use the order or product that started it.
Every flow below runs on SmartyTap today. Open one for its full anatomy.
| Flow | Starts when | Usual email type |
|---|---|---|
| Thank-you email | An order is created (or paid) | Transactional, or marketing if it sells |
| Fulfilled order email | An order is fulfilled or partially fulfilled | Transactional |
| Order tag email | An order gets a tag, or has one | Either, depending on the tag |
| Cancelled or refunded order email | An order is cancelled or refunded | Transactional, then marketing |
| Browse abandonment | A known shopper views a product | Marketing |
| Birthday email | It’s the customer’s birthday | Rewards email |
| Abandoned checkout | A known shopper starts checkout | Marketing |
| Back in stock | A product a shopper wanted is available again | Marketing |
Shopify sends an order event, or the Chargezen pixel records a product view, add to cart or checkout.
The trigger filters, profile filters and re-entry rule decide whether this customer enters.
Waits, emails, order tags and Splits, each checked against the profile filters first.
Each run keeps a history of its steps and sends, so you can see who got what and when.
Set in the SmartyTap flow builder, or by your AI app through the SmartyTap tools.
| Part | Options | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Trigger | Order created; Order created or updated; Order tags added; Order tags removed; Order paid; Order fulfilled; Order partially fulfilled; Order cancelled; Order refunded; Viewed Product; Added to Cart; Checkout Started | Decides what starts a run. Order triggers come from Shopify order webhooks; storefront triggers from the Chargezen pixel. |
| Trigger filters | Order total, currency, tags, SKUs, added or removed tags; product title, type, vendor; cart or checkout total and item count | Compares the event itself, so only the orders or products you care about start the flow. |
| Profile filters | Order and browsing history in a period, list or segment membership, email marketing eligibility, subscription status | Checked when a customer enters and again before every step. Customers who stop matching leave the flow. |
| Re-entry | Allow every time; no re-entry; allow again after a period | Decides whether the same customer can go through the flow again. |
| Steps | Email; Time delay (minutes, hours or days); Add order tags; Split | What happens for each customer, in order. |
| Email type | Marketing or transactional | Marketing needs consent and can skip people emailed recently. Transactional fits order updates only and doesn’t need marketing consent. |
Transactional is for order updates. Anything that promotes a product is marketing and needs consent.
For reminders, add a profile filter like "placed an order zero times since starting this flow" so buyers stop getting them.
Use no re-entry for one-time messages and a waiting period for storefront flows, so frequent visitors aren’t emailed on every visit.
Flows, campaigns, forms and customer data in one app, on the same customer record as the rest of Chargezen.
A SmartyTap flow is an automation that starts when a customer does something, like placing an order or viewing a product, and then runs steps for that customer: emails, waits, order tags and Splits. Order events come from Shopify and storefront events from the Chargezen pixel.
Thank-you, fulfilled order, order tag, cancelled or refunded order, browse abandonment, abandoned checkout, back in stock and birthday emails. Order flows can start on nine Shopify order events, and storefront flows on Viewed Product, Added to Cart and Checkout Started.
A campaign is one send to a list or segment at a time you choose. A flow runs on its own for each customer when a trigger happens, and keeps running until you turn it off.
You choose. Re-entry can allow every time, never allow it, or allow it again after a period such as 30 days.
Yes. Connect SmartyTap to ChatGPT or Claude and ask for the flow. The AI app writes the email, saves the flow as a Draft and turns it on when you ask.
