In short

What is email and SMS reporting?

Email and SMS reporting shows what happened after you sent a message: who got it, who opened or clicked and who replied. SmartyTap also shows who was left out and why, so you can tell the difference between a message people ignored and one they never received.

Why it matters

A good open rate doesn't tell you who never got a message. SmartyTap's reports show where each message went, what people did next and who was left out, so the next campaign starts from what you learned.

Everything you need to sell more.

Campaign performance

Accepted, delivered, opened, clicked, replied, failed and bounced for email, and accepted, delivered and failed for texts, for a whole campaign or a single message.

Who was left out

See who was suppressed, skipped by Smart Sending, blocked or cancelled, and why.

Message comparison

Put a campaign's messages side by side, by what people did or by delivery status.

A/B test results

See each version, when the winner gets picked, and whether it was automatic or your call.

Placed order rate

In an A/B test, see how many recipients ordered after getting each version.

Deliverability

Delivery, bounce, complaint and reply rates, charted over time.

How it works.

  1. 1

    Send as usual

Reports start as soon as a campaign or flow goes out.

  2. 2

    Open the campaign

Click Campaign performance, or open a single message.

  3. 3

    See what happened

Read delivery status and what people did next, in one view.

  4. 4

    Use it next time

Send more of what worked to the people who responded.

More than opens and clicks.

A few things that are easy to miss, and worth a look.

Email analytics

Overview, Campaigns, Journeys and Deliverability tabs show how your email is doing over time.

Flow runs

See each customer's trip through a flow: status, current step, when it resumes and why a run failed.

Sales in your other tools

SmartyTap adds UTM tags to store links, so Google Analytics and Shopify show what each campaign brought in.

Where to see orders and sales.

Seeing what a campaign brought in

SmartyTap campaign reports don't show revenue. Placed order rate isn't revenue either.

Common questions

For each email campaign or message: accepted, delivered, opened, clicked, replied, failed and bounced. For texts: accepted, delivered and failed. You also see who was left out and why, A/B test results, email analytics and flow runs.

Not in the campaign report, which doesn't show revenue. UTM tags on your store links show visits and sales in Google Analytics and Shopify.

Use placed order rate. It shows how many test recipients ordered after getting their version. It isn't revenue.

Phones don't report when a text is read. Campaign reports show accepted, delivered and failed for texts. With link tracking on, clicks appear in customer activity and can be used in segments.

Delivery status says why: they unsubscribed, were blocked, got a message from another campaign recently through Smart Sending, or the campaign was cancelled before their turn.
