Preference center

Email preference center

Email Marketing

A preference center is a page where subscribers choose what they hear from you, such as language, topics or how often, instead of unsubscribing completely.

What is Preference center?

A preference center turns "unsubscribe" into a choice. Options can include topics, frequency, language and channel. Fewer full unsubscribes and fewer complaints: people who can turn things down are less likely to hit "spam." In SmartyTap, every marketing email links to a Your email preferences page where the customer picks a language or unsubscribes from marketing while still getting order emails. Topic choices aren't on that page; collect them in a form and use them as segment conditions.

Example

A subscriber who only reads Spanish picks Español on the preference page and gets translated campaigns from then on.

Why Preference center Matters

Keeping a subscriber on fewer messages beats losing them entirely.

Preference center FAQ

Does a preference center replace the unsubscribe link?

No. Keep a direct unsubscribe too; the law and inbox providers require an easy way out.

Can customers pick topics in SmartyTap?

Not on the preference page. Ask in a form, save the answer as a customer preference and segment on it.
