Configure your affiliate program settings in Spark!

Last updated: 2026-01-19

Setting up your affiliate program in Spark! involves configuring your program identity, default terms, and affiliate experience. This guide walks through each setting.

Program Identity

Define how your program appears to affiliates:

  • Program Name — e.g., "Brand Partners Program"
  • Logo — Displayed in the affiliate portal header
  • Brand Colors — Customize the portal to match your brand
  • Support Email — Where affiliates can reach you

Default Terms

1

Set Default Commission Rate

2

Configure Cookie Duration

3

Define Payout Threshold

4

Set Payout Schedule

Commission Best Practices

Start with a competitive commission rate (15-25% for most e-commerce) and adjust based on performance data. Higher commissions attract better affiliates but reduce margins.

Application Form

Customize what information you collect from applicants:

  • Required Fields — Name, email, and website/social handles
  • Optional Fields — Add custom questions like "How did you hear about us?"
  • Terms & Conditions — Upload your affiliate agreement for acceptance
  • Tax Information — W-9 collection for US affiliates (required for $600+/year)

Email Templates

Spark! sends automated emails at key moments. Customize these templates:

  • Application Received — Confirmation when someone applies
  • Application Approved — Welcome email with login credentials
  • Application Rejected — Polite decline with optional reason
  • Commission Earned — Notification when a sale is attributed
  • Payout Sent — Confirmation when funds are transferred
Email Integration

Spark! can sync with Klaviyo or Mailchimp to add affiliates to your email flows. Enable this in Settings → Integrations → Email.

Tracking Settings

Configure how conversions are tracked:

  • Attribution Model — First-touch, last-touch, or custom (Pro feature)
  • Cookie Type — First-party (recommended) or third-party
  • Cross-Device Tracking — Enable if you have customer accounts
  • Conversion Window — How long after click to attribute (same as cookie duration)
