Briefs and submissions

Write a content brief, review what creators submit, and approve it or ask for a revision. How the approval loop and revision rounds work in Spark!.

Last updated: 2026-10-19

A brief tells creators what to make. A submission is what they send back. You approve it, ask for a revision or reject it, and every round is recorded with the feedback you gave. Briefs live in Spark! → LaunchPad → Content Briefs, and submissions in LaunchPad → Submissions.

Write a brief

1

Basic information

Go to Content Briefs → Create Brief. Enter a Brief Name, pick a Deliverable Type (Video Content, Photo/Image, Story/Reel, Product Review or Blog Post) and write the Description & Overview and Campaign Objectives.

2

Content requirements

Add Key Messages & Talking Points and a list of Do’s and Don’ts. Upload Brand Assets creators can use, such as logos or product shots.

3

Required hashtags and mentions

List the Hashtags (like #yourbrand) and Mentions (like @yourbrand) every post must include. For TikTok clips, Spark! checks the caption for each one and flags anything missing.

4

Terms and deadlines

Set the Submission Deadline, the Revision Limit (how many rounds of changes are included), the Usage Rights (6 months, 1 year, perpetual or campaign duration only) and, if you need it, Exclusivity required with an Exclusivity Period.

5

Make it active

Set the Status to Active. Drafts stay with your team, and archiving a brief hides it without deleting past submissions.

Who sees a brief

Creators see a brief in their portal when it is active and belongs to a campaign they have joined, by accepting your invitation or having their application accepted. They see the full brief: key messages, hashtags, mentions, do’s and don’ts, assets, examples, the revision limit, usage rights and exclusivity.

How creators submit

From their portal, a creator on the campaign sends a submission with a Content Type (TikTok Video, Instagram Post, Reel or Story, YouTube Video or Short, Tweet, Blog post or Other), a Link to the content, the Caption and any Notes for you. They can tie it to one of the campaign’s briefs. Only creators accepted onto the campaign can submit.

TikTok videos work differently: the creator connects their TikTok account and picks the clip, and Spark! checks that it’s really theirs. See TikTok clip verification.

Review submissions

1

Open Submissions

In LaunchPad → Submissions, filter by status (Pending Review is the queue) or campaign, or search by creator, campaign, product or TikTok video. Open a submission to see the content, caption, brief and campaign.

2

Approve

Choose Approve when it meets the brief.

3

Or ask for changes

Choose Request Revision (on TikTok clips, Request Clip Revision), write in Feedback what needs to change, and choose Send Revision Request.

4

Or reject

Choose Reject when the content won’t work at all.

The revision loop

  1. You request a revision with feedback. The submission moves to Revision Requested.
  2. The creator reads your feedback in their portal and sends a new version: a new link, caption or notes.
  3. The submission goes back to Pending Review with a new submitted date, and you review it again.

Only a submission waiting on a revision can be resubmitted. Approved and rejected submissions are final. The brief’s revision limit tells creators how many rounds are included. Spark! doesn’t block extra rounds, so agree on what happens after the limit in your contract.

Submission statuses

StatusWhat it means
Pending ReviewThe creator sent it (or sent a new version). It waits for you.
ApprovedYou accepted it. It counts toward the creator’s completed deliverables on the campaign.
Revision RequestedYou asked for changes. The creator sees your feedback and can send a new version.
RejectedYou turned it down. The creator sees your reason, if you gave one.

Spark! records who reviewed each submission and when. In the creator’s portal, each active campaign shows how many deliverables are done: the approved submissions against the deliverables you set on the campaign.

Turn approved clips into ads

An approved, verified TikTok clip can be promoted as a Spark Ad straight from Submissions with Promote Clip. See TikTok Spark Ads.
