TikTok Spark Ads

Connect your TikTok ads account to Spark!, promote a creator’s verified clip, and build the campaign, ad group and ad in your account, linked to the creator.

A TikTok Spark Ad runs a real TikTok post as an ad. It keeps the creator’s handle, sound, likes and comments, so viewers see a recommendation, not a banner. Spark! lets you go from a creator’s approved clip to a Spark Ad in your own TikTok ads account, and keeps every ad linked to the creator, campaign and clip it came from.

Ads run in your TikTok ads account and TikTok bills you for the spend. Spark! is $199 a month or $1,990 a year and takes no cut of your ad spend.

Before you start

  • A TikTok ads account you can sign in to as an admin.
  • The creator has connected their TikTok account in their Spark! portal.
  • The clip is approved in Submissions and shows Verified Owner.
  • Usage rights for paid ads, ideally in a signed contract (the Meta/TikTok Ads + Whitelisting template).

Connect your TikTok ads account

1

Open Integrations

Go to Spark! → Settings → Integrations and find TikTok Ads.

2

Connect ad account

Choose Connect ad account. TikTok opens and asks you to authorize Spark!. When you come back, the card shows how many advertiser accounts are connected.

3

More accounts, or disconnect

Use Connect another account to add more. Disconnect removes Spark!’s access.

Promote a creator’s clip

In LaunchPad → Submissions, open an approved, verified TikTok clip and choose Promote Clip. Spark! opens LaunchPad → Campaigns with the TikTok ad setup filled in from the clip: the creator, video, caption, thumbnail, campaign and brief, plus the product, tracking link and discount code if the creator added them. Clips that aren’t approved and verified can’t be promoted.

Build the ad

The TikTok Ads panel on LaunchPad → Campaigns builds the ad in four steps, the same structure TikTok Ads Manager uses. Each step is created in your TikTok account when you save it.

1

Campaign

Pick the Ad account, name the TikTok campaign, choose the Objective (Traffic, Video views, Reach, Engagement, Lead generation, Product sales or Conversions) and the budget (no campaign cap, a total cap or a daily cap). Link it to the Spark campaign it belongs to, then choose Create Campaign.

2

Creative

Add the video: Direct upload of a file, a Video URL, or Use video ID for a video already in your TikTok asset library. Name it and choose Upload Creative.

3

Ad group

Choose the TikTok campaign, then set the Budget (daily or total), Locations, Gender and other audience settings or Automated targeting, the Optimization goal, Bid and Billing. Add your TikTok Pixel and Event for conversion goals. If you sell through a TikTok catalog, pick the Catalog and Product scope or Product set ID. Choose Create Ad Group.

4

Ad

Choose the ad group and creative, write the Ad name and Ad text, pick a Call to action and the Landing page. Under Identity, pick the identity type and ID the ad posts as: Creator auth code for a creator’s own post, TikTok user, Business Center TikTok or a Custom identity. Type and ID go together. Choose Create Ad.

Ads start paused

Spark! creates every TikTok campaign, ad group and ad switched off. Nothing spends until you review it and turn it on in TikTok Ads Manager.

The creator’s permission

To run an ad as the creator’s own post, TikTok needs the creator’s permission for that video. The creator creates an authorization code for the post in the TikTok app and sends it to you, and that authorization is what the Creator auth code identity uses. Agree on how long you can run it in your contract.

Reporting

Each promoted clip shows Boosted Reporting in Submissions: how many creatives and ads use it, and paid results once TikTok reports them (impressions, clicks, spend, conversions and revenue). The status tells you where it stands: not promoted, waiting for the TikTok ad, ad failed, waiting for paid metrics, or synced. Use Refresh TikTok campaign data in the TikTok Ads panel to pull the latest from your account.

Because each ad stays tied to its creator and campaign, you can see whose posts are worth more budget next to their organic views on the same clip.

Common questions

The panel says to connect an advertiser account

Connect your TikTok ads account in Settings → Integrations (the panel’s Open Settings button takes you there), then come back.

An ad shows as failed

TikTok rejected the request. Check the ad’s settings against TikTok’s rules (often the identity, budget or landing page) and create the ad again.
